Intervals and cars
Pads inspected every 10,000 km, at the oil change. Brake fluid every two years whatever the mileage, because it absorbs water and the pedal goes soft.
Cars we see most for this: Suzuki Cultus, Alto and Mehran drums and discs; Honda City and Civic; Toyota Corolla and Vitz.
Every visit goes on your car's job card: what you reported, what we found, every part, labour and the odometer. How the record works
Asked most often
Why do my new pads squeal?
Usually glazing or the wrong pad compound, sometimes a missing anti-squeal shim. Bring it back; we sort it.
Skim or replace the discs?
The gauge decides. Above the minimum thickness after a skim, skim. Below it, replace.
What's the judder at speed?
Almost always a warped or unevenly worn disc. Occasionally a loose wheel bearing, which we check at the same time.
How long does a brake job take?
Pads on one axle in about an hour. Pads and discs, or caliper work, half a day.
